We have been following the Cruise Critic Discussion for the 28-day Hawaii, Tahiti & Marquesas cruise. The discussion board was started back in April 2017. It seems that there are a lot of experienced cruisers of the 100+ people enrolled in the Roll Call. There are interesting discussions about: school and other supply donations for the residents of Fanning Island – the next island visit after Hawaii; Australian dollars are the official currency of Fanning Island; converting money to the French Polynesian franc or just using American dollars; planning the Meet & Greet of Cruise Critic members, as well as Trivia teams and reserving afternoon space for board games and card games; private excursions among the Cruise Critic members and even a pre-cruise dinner in San Diego the evening before the cruise begins.
For a 28-day cruise, I don’t think there will be many first-time cruisers. We have three-star status in the loyalty program for this cruise. It will enable us to get cappuccinos for 25% off.
This morning the temperature dipped to -24°C {or -6°F}, but there was no wind. The warm temperatures of the South Pacific will be welcome.
